Opened in 1947, the Hornbeck Theatre has been remodeled into a spacious piggyback twin theatre. The Penthouse Theatre, upstairs, occupies what was originally the balcony. Recently re-carpeted, painted and draped, this downtown landmark features top recent films at the low admission of $2.00. Jones Theatres operates the Hornbeck and Penthouse in a joint venture with national theatre chain Carmike Cinemas, giving local audiences the benefits of a national chain with local ownership and supervision.
